Chinook

largest of the five Pacific Salmon is the Chinook (King) salmon. Chinook
are famous for their long line spooling runs and great energy reserves,
the power these fish have is awesome Size range from 15 to 60 pounds with

Sockeye Salmon Most plentiful of the BC Pacific Salmon, each year literally millions of these acrobatic silver bullets enter the Fraser River, Sockeye are very streamlined and battle extremely well, often spending more time in the air than in the water. Pink Salmon Very aggressive and are probably the easiest of the Pacific BC Salmon to catch. In season Pinks are very abundant and willing to take almost anything you offer them. Pinks average 3 to 5 pounds and with the use of Light Tackle (spinning or fly ) are great fun and a good Fun Fish for the whole family. Pink salmon are available odd years only. Prime

Chum Salmon The second largest of the Pacific Salmon, and are so plentiful they are hard to avoid, multiple fish days are the norm. Like the Pinks, Chum provide great sport '' on the fly '' but are twice the size on average. Chum are present from September right through December, making them a great secondary Target Species. Coho Salmon Famous in the British Columbia's Fraser Valley, mostly among locals and those who target them religiously every September- December. Coho are very challenging to fool, one day they grab anything going by, while other times Coho seem to ignore even the best offerings. If it is a challenge you want, this is an excellent Sport Fish.
