Harrison Bay Guided Services Fishing Report

Although we are now in April the cooler weather from winter is still upon us. There has been very little snow melt and the Rivers are low and clear! It will not be long now before the big melt begins and with it higher water and some great fishing opportunity!

The Fraser River

The Fraser River remains low and clear as the snow pack up in the headwaters remains frozen. There has been some great Cutthroat trout fishing opportunities most days and the salmon fry are really starting to hatch now. Small minnow patterns are your best bet!
Sturgeon fishing has been hit and miss depending on the weather pattern and location of the day. We have had some great days of 12 to 15 fish and other days we have been struggling to catch a few. One the water starts to rise and warm up the fishing should become more stable and we should see more consistent success rates!

Sturgeon fishing is catch and release only in B.C. and all fish caught by Harrison Bay Guided Services are tagged for the Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society.

Chehalis & Vedder Rivers

The Vedder River remains your best choice for steelhead fishing in the valley! There has been some great steelhead taken to over 20 pounds over the past few weeks. Expect Steelhead fishing to continue right through the end of the month.

The Harrison River

The Harrison River has good numbers of Cutthroat trout and whitefish through out the river. The Harrison River is a great place to spend a day this time of year with plenty of wildlife and some good fishing opportunities as well. The annual salmon fry migration is just getting started so make sure you have some salmon fry patterns in your box.
